Technology in art. Sound familiar? Well we are back on the same track after a weeks break for our spring scheduling. Sharon Louden, a very accomplished artist (her list of accolades was too long to write down) came today to share her experiences with art and technology.
For years, Louden has found her inspiration in movement. She loves the way the body moves (especially when playing tennis), the way hair "flows," any other sort of movement that she can use to motivate her work. It has a sense of character and feeling of nature that she is out to discover through her art.
Throughout her career, Sharon has worked in a number of different medium. At first Sharon was fascinated with glow-in-the-dark paint, and created custom colors of paint for her many different projects. She also used paper in the form of sculpture with glowing images on the pages to create a very unique installment. Glass sculpture was a phase, as was animation. Currently she would like to get into more animation, as animation studios have been contacting her to work for them. Sharon Louden has been so successful that she has had homeowners contact her to install glow-in-the-dark works in their houses. One owner had Sharon install hundreds of glass pieces above their kitchen table. It was very impressive.....well that's it til next week!
