Trip to the PAFA

Two weeks ago I attended the Sydney Goodman show at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. The price ($12) was a little steep for me (haha) but I really enjoyed his work. Goodman's art can be rather graphic, showing killings, beatings, and sex, but his work is very well done and realistic looking. His works at the show were primarily made with charcoal and varied in size and detail. He used a lot of shadows to show depth and give his work and almost sullen feel to the pictures. It was a very good experience all-in-all.
